Marlon Craft delivers “Hoodie Weather,” an anthem for police reform

Remaining a central figure in NYC’s independent hip-hop scene, Marlon Craft is an artist who can’t be boxed in. After the release of his excellent debut Funhouse Mirror LP last year, Craft has since been focused on creating content for his new fan based subscription service The Center as well as dropping his exceptional Work From Home EP earlier this year to hold fans off until the release of his anticipated sophomore album.

Craft has now returned with the second single and visual off of the upcoming LP, a boisterous track entitled “Hoodie Weather”. Produced by Dan Edinberg  and xm▵ne, the single is a highly political, anti-police state anthem that maintains that gritty old school New York feeling without sounding stale or dated thanks to the dynamic layering, glitched out 808’s, and Craft’s elastic wordplay. This feeling is accentuated by the gritty Jacob Carlson + Crafty directed visual that features Marlon as he performs in a number of graffiti drenched locales desecrating American flags and calling out the corrupt capitalist system.
