Divine Astronaut can’t mute those “Voices” in their head [Video]
Electronic duo Divine Astronaut shine light on the power of our inner-thoughts in their dramatic new single “Voices.” With so much noise going on in the world, the buildup can become unbearable, not knowing which direction to take or where to go. We desperately seek inner peace and yet it seems no matter where we go, there’s the constant buzzing and whirring of everyday life. Divine Astronaut speak about overcoming these voices and not letting them control our lives. Singer Livvy Holland shares further, “The source of these voices can be from any challenging situation, upbringing, or beliefs, resulting in a lot of noise in the brain! And regardless of how dark our own inner voices can be, this song is an affirmation that we can keep our hope and love for existence intact amid all the external and internal naysaying.”
Holland, along with producer and multi-instrumentalist Moonhead have formed a unique style, blending their love for 90’s electronic acts with industrial rock elements. The project began after a conversation between the two musicians sparked the realization that there was a major lack in the electronic market and they wanted to reignite the genre which had been a huge impact on their own sound, back during the days of Portishead, Enigma and Massive Attack. “Voices” pays tribute to these artists, featuring downtempo beats, dark, haunting melodies and ominous guitars. The accompanying video reiterates this sinister atmosphere. Filmed at Dracula’s Bran Castle in Transylvania, Romania, the eerie visuals capture the true essence of the song, delivering a spine-tingling and memorable release.
