Tom Ford makes a memorable debut with Poppy Ajudhu on “Love You”
Tom Ford has made his debut with a dreamy indie track entitled "Love You." The British singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer, teamed up with producer Karma Kid and vocalist Poppy Ajudhu on the track, and an equally out of this world animated video from Birmingham-basedm Chinese visual artist, Shiyi Li.
Through composition that lives somewhere between dream wave, indie pop, and guitar-led psychedelics, the track is an impressive debut from Ford, making his musical brand clear from the first go. Ajudhu's vocals round things out to be just as memorable as the track's production, funky and alluring, like the track's subject. "Love You" covers the playful grey area of early relationships as people get to know one another. “I really liked this idea that anyone who has been in a relationship goes through a phase where you don't know if the other person is into you as much as you're into them, and they're usually on the same page as you," Ford says. "It's that game of chicken. Who's the one to explicitly come out and say it and just go for it? There's always a vague grey area of who's gonna go first?”
