The Late Ones share positive vibrations with “Feeling Myself” [Video]
Conscious reggae/hip-hop fusion band The Late One caught our eyes and ears with the visuals for their single, "Feeling Myself." The feel-good track blends several elements from the classic reggae guitar plucks, warm soulful textures peppered by a solid hip-hop swag. The group consists of brothers Tui Avei and Tau Avei , along with their cousin Josh Brunson who all come together like a unified force to spread positive vibrations with their uplifting and heartfelt lyrics. The upbeat energy of the brothers is in full swing from their melodic raps to the catchy and empowering chorus that aims to give us that daily dose of confidence we ned in these crazy times.
The video, directed by Kat Faith, captures the positive vibe and energy of the trio in a surreal type of way. The use of performance shots spliced with the party atmosphere and spiritual motifs sure makes it stand out while retaining the fun aspect.
The Late Ones first burst into the scene in 2020 with their Lately EP, a powerful mix of conscious reggae and hip-hop, combined with protest music, social commentary, and uplifting messages. On their forthcoming LP, they continue the conscious messaging like the previous single “Fake Reggae,” which challenges their contemporaries to use their platforms to address social change, and to use their music to affect real change.
“Feeling Myself,” is taken from their upcoming debut studio album, The Fourth Quarter.
