Sheff G Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder, Will Be Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison

Sheff G will be sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy.

The 26-year-old rapper, born Michael Williams, accepted a court offer with his guilty plea on Wednesday (March 26) in exchange for a five-year prison sentence, according to a press release from the office of Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

Prosecutors originally sought a 20-year sentence, but Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Danny Chun gave him five years in prison and five years of supervised release. His sentencing was originally scheduled for August.

“Notoriety could not shield this defendant from justice. He used his fame to fund and direct violence, terrorizing our streets, and though we sought a much longer sentence, he will now be held to account,” said District Attorney Gonzalez in the aforementioned statement. “Brooklyn will not tolerate gangs that endanger our communities, and we remain committed to dismantling these criminal networks and holding those responsible fully accountable.”

Sheff, an alleged member of the 8 Trey Crips and its affiliate, the 9 Ways gang, was among 32 individuals charged in a 140-count indictment for violent crimes, including “committing shootings, possessing guns, and using stolen cars during shootings against gang rivals.”

Authorities alleged that presumed gang members, including Sheff, committed multiple acts of violence, many of which were captured on surveillance footage and discussed on social media.

One of the most serious incidents was a mass shooting in Oct. 21, 2020, where a rival gang member, 23-year-old Theodore Senior, was killed, and five others were left injured.

Prosecutors claimed Sheff was involved in planning and celebrating the attack, even hosting a lavish dinner to commemorate it at a Manhattan steak house.

Sheff, who was renting a large house in Short Hills, New Jersey, at the time of the conspiracy, allegedly used his music earnings to fund gang activity in Brooklyn “by offering money and giving expensive jewelry to those who committed acts of violence,” per the Brooklyn DA.

In another 2021 incident in Flatbush, Sheff was accused of coordinating three shooters and acting as their getaway driver.

The case remains ongoing with other defendants, including rapper Sleepy Hallow, legally known as Tegan Chambers, still facing charges.

Sheff was free on bail when he and Sleepy Hallow appeared at a Bronx rally in support of Donald Trump during his re-election campaign in May 2023.

A week later, Trump was found guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records during his hush money trial in connection to his alleged affair with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
