Five People Charged in Liam Payne’s Death

Five individuals have been charged in connection to Liam Payne’s death.

The 31-year-old singer fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Oct. 16. According to his toxicology report, the former One Direction singer had consumed alcohol and multiple drugs before his death, which reportedly happened after hotel employees locked him in his room due to erratic behavior.

According to court documents reviewed by Page Six, hotel manager Gilda Martin, receptionist Esteban Grassi, who called 911 before Payne’s death, and friend Rogelio “Roger” Nores have been hit with manslaughter charges. Hotel employees Braian Paiz and Ezequiel Pereyra are charged with supplying drugs to Payne.

Two of the accused remain in custody and have been summoned to appear in court within 24 hours. A judge will make a decision if the accused will be prosecuted, dropped from the case, or decide there is no evidence for either decision.

All five individuals made court appearances earlier this month.

Nores, who took on a manager-like role for Payne, is also accused of neglecting to inform the singer’s family about his relapse and not responding to calls from police in relation to Payne’s death. Despite maintaining his innocence, he could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Paiz, a 24-year-old waiter who admitted to using cocaine with Payne, denied selling and supplying drugs to him in an interview with TMZ.

Payne was laid to rest on Nov. 20. His former One Direction bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik were in attendance.
