Drakeo The Ruler resurfaces with thrilling “Fights Don’t Matter” [Video]
Over the past two years, Los Angeles rapper, Drakeo The Ruler has had the cards stacked against him. After firmly establishing himself as the head of the impending L.A. renaissance, he’s spent the last 24-months battling an unjust court case brought on by a district attorney that obviously had it out for him. After the D.A. leading the case was voted out of office recently, they had no choice but to let Drakeo go. Picking up right where he left off, he unleashes his engaging new video for, “Fight’s Don’t Matter.”
Serving as his first drop since his release, Drakeo wastes no time getting back to it. Kicking off the record with the lyrics, “I looked at my wrist two times and caught pneumonia,” over thumping production from Thank You Fizzle and Al B Smoove, he immediately proves that jail couldn’t quiet his confidence. Spending the rest of the song spitting out similar one-liners like, “custom-made pieces, we don’t never touch the mannequin,” he also highlights the one quality that separates himself from other rappers in his lane: his ability to, not only, make you feel broke as hell, but at the same time to motivate you to go get it.
Directed by Lil’ Gucci, the visuals also showcase Drakeo’s signature charisma, as well as his affinity for good living. Surrounded by the rest of his Stinc Team entourage–who were also facing charges–the video serves as a homecoming of sorts, with everybody decked out in their best gear and most shiny jewels, having the time of their lives. If this video is any indication, it seems that we might be hearing quite a bit from the Los Angeles faction in the upcoming months. Check out the video above and get familiar with Drakeo The Ruler.
