DDG Tells Halle Bailey ‘Don’t Take My Son,’ Says He Doesn’t ‘Love These Thots’ in New Song
DDG has released a new song about the custody/visitation problems he’s having with Halle Bailey about their son, Halo.
DDG dropped the song, “Don’t Take My Son,” which addresses Bailey directly about their issues. Produced by Cash Cobain, DDG pleads for the ability to see his kid. “Don’t take my son because he’s all I got/I’m just having fun, I don’t love these thots” he sings on the chorus.
Elsewhere in the track, he claims that spending money will make him angry. “Tryna make me pay to see my son, that’s gonna make me hot,” he sings, before later on saying, “It’s not about the money, it’s more about the principle, you know I’m rich.”
In a separate video, DDG expressed his final thoughts about the situation, revealing his reasoning.
“I just don’t want it to come to the point where he’s like, ‘my pops ain’t around’ and that’s my main thing,” DDG explained.
In a clip circulating online, DDG doesn’t want to take Bailey to court because it’ll be “extremely messy and it don’t have to happen.”
DDG then revealed that he thought he didn’t have any more options for how he could address the situation. “I don’t like putting y’all in my business, but I don’t know what else to do,” said DDG. “But, I know the internet moves people. I just want to see my son, that’s it. I love being a dad and I want to be a dad, plain and simple. I think I’m the first ni**a to ever be canceled for wanting to be a dad.”
On Friday, DDG posted a vlog titled “She Won’t Let Me See My Son..” where he revealed the underlying issues that the two are facing. “I just want to be able to see my son when I want to see my son take my son when I want to take my son,” DDG expressed.
“Like, I don’t care if this makes me look childish, If I look like I’m on the internet crazy, whatever–I don’t care, bro,” he continued. “I don’t care what nobody thinks. I literally just want to be in my son’s life.”
While he later admitted that he does see his son for “very minimal time,” he claimed that the reason he streams with women often is because he can’t “be a dad” when he wants.
“I don’t give a… about hanging around no girls; I want to be around my son, you feel me?” he said. “But since I can’t be around my son, I’m obviously going to work. I’m not going to sit in the crib look at the wall and cry about this shit.”
