ASAP Rocky Talks Possible Collabs With Rihanna, Calls Her a ‘Phenomenal Creative’

ASAP Rocky says he’s “always down” to collaborate with Rihanna.

In his Pharrell-produced track “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n),” out now, Rocky lyrically teased an unspecified “collab with my baby mom.” Speaking with Jordan Rose for Complex, Rocky elaborated further on how such a collab might take shape in the future.

“I’m always down to collab with my partner, man,” Rocky, who also directed and starred in a new Beats short film this week (complete with a Rihanna cameo), told Complex. “She’s a phenomenal creative. Yeah, there’s a lot of things we’re going to collaborate on, from products for children, there’s a lot of things to look forward to.”

Elsewhere, Rocky addressed the wait for his long-teased new album, saying leakers are responsible for the pushbacks.

“These dummies got to stop leaking shit,” Rocky advised, noting that a return to “the drawing board” is required each time something else unofficially surfaces. Still, Rocky said, he’s now indeed in “album mode.”

Rocky last delivered a solo full-length in the form of 2018’s Testing. More recently, he’s received praise in connection with a number of headlines-spurring moments including creative-directing his and Rihanna’s son’s outfits and jumping over someone at the Met Gala.

This weekend, Rocky is on the lineup for the 2023 edition of Rolling Loud Miami. Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Lil Yachty, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Coi Leray, Chief Keef, Latto, Turnstile, and more are also scheduled to perform across the three-day festival at Hard Rock Stadium.
