Steve Lacy Shares a Touching Story About Ye Cheering Him Up

Steve Lacy has revealed a touching story about how Ye cheered him up when he was going through it while on tour.

Lacy hopped on Instagram to share what happened. “One time i was on the tour having a har time crying to goodmorning by kanye so i wiped my tears and facetimed him to let hm know how great that intro was,” wrote Lacy.

“He climinted me back about static quoting do you even really like this track then pulled up to my show in dublin of all places,” Lacy continued, sharing an emotional emoji with it. “Not very nostalgic but this was a sweet moment I felt like sharing idk.”

With the caption, Lacy posted three photos of the duo together, presumably at the Dublin show he was talking about. Lacy looks happy while Ye looks…well…you can’t really tell. His face is obscured by a hoodie, but it’s entirely possible that he was matching Lacy’s energy.

If Lacy wants to return the favor to Ye, he’ll probably have the chance sometime soon in the near future when the rapper drops his forthcoming LP Bully and goes on tour. Ye recently shared the cover art for the project.

Journalist Touré recently reported that Ye would be “producing everything 100 percent himself” on the project, citing his source as “someone who knows.” While Ye didn’t necessarily confirm this, he did however share some different pictures of himself making music across multiple chapters in his decades-long career.

As far as Lacy, he seems to be in good spirits. After happily appearing at Kendrick Lamar’s The Pop Out event in Inglewood, California, — where he danced alongside YG on stage and dapped up one of the kids who danced with Tommy the Clown — Lacy reminded everyone that he’s from the streets in response to the good natured jokes about him being there. “Y’all know i’m from competition right?? So proud of us. Thank u kdot,” he wrote.
