Irv Gotti Shares Health Update Following Stroke, Says DMX Biopic Is Still in the Works

Irv Gotti has been suffering from poor health.

But it seems he’s improved. “I’m getting older. That’s all,” the music exec told The Shade Room, after his recent stroke made headlines. “Only thing worse than getting old is not getting old.”

He added, “Life is good,” sharing that he’s been recovering and relaxing with his sons, Sonny and JJ, and his dogs. He said his kids were bothered by Wack 100 divulging Gotti’s stroke last week.

“They love their dad so much,” he said.

Last Wednesday, Wack 100 claimed that Irv suffered a stroke and needed a cane to walk, which prompted a response from Gotti. A rep from his team told TMZ that the 54-year-old had a “minor” stroke in February.

“Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago,” Gotti’s rep said. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life.”

According to the rep, Gotti is also healthy enough to return to work, and told TSR that he’s working on a DMX biopic. When X’s ex-wife, Tashera Simmons caught wind of the news, she told TSR, “We want to clarify that we are not currently working with Irv Gotti, nor have we agreed to partner with him on any content related to Earl Simmons, including a biopic.”
