Yung Mal and NLE Choppa Drop New Video
In the video, an effortlessly fly Mal shows off his ice and rocks an orange bubble jacket with a matching Yankees fitted as he counts his cash and throws down in Candler Park with his squad. Doing donuts around swirling flutes and insistent 808s, Mal shows off his rapidfire patter on the new track, occasionally switching to a cut-time triplet flow to pontificate about his problems and brag about his hard-earned riches: “Stay down, stay down, stay down, stay down/None of this sh*t did come overnight/I ran that sh*t all the way up from the ground/The bands don’t fit cause my pants too tight.”
“Stay Down” is Mal’s first video following a breakthrough 2020, featuring two high-octane collaborative projects with rising producers. Released in March, 6 Rings paired Mal with Pyrex Whippa. Sporting appearances from Lil Keed, Lil Gotit, and Doe Boy, 6 Rings received praise from publications like HYPEBEAST and XXL. Later in the year, Mal released Iceberg Sosa, produced in full by Memphis producer Sosa808 (Key Glock, G Herbo), which featured highlight video singles like “Hitstick” and “Own Drip.” Building a head of steam in 2021, Yung Mal looks to assume his rightful place among Atlanta’s trap elite.
