YG Arrested on Suspicion of DUI After Allegedly Driving Over a Curb
YG found himself in handcuffs on Tuesday morning over a suspected DUI.
According to TMZ, police just happened to be in the vicinity when the rapper drove over a curb in Burbank, California, in his red Lamborghini and stopped in a grassy area near an intersection. The incident wasn’t provoked by anything in particular, the outlet notes.
Burbank Police Department says the rapper, born Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson “displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
According to the LA Times, police could immediately confirm if a breathalyzer, field sobriety or blood test was included in the DUI investigation. YG was booked into Burbank Jail and by 2:30 p.m. he was released.
Police said that no other vehicles or people were involved in the collision, and no injures were reported.
According to the LA Times, YG’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, stated that his client “intends to contest the allegations against him.”
“One thing is obvious,” Tacopina said, as reported by the outlet, “YG seems to have a bullseye on his back by certain members of law enforcement and we will be addressing that.”

The night prior to his arrest, YG attended a “Push Back Against Project 2025” event hosted by Taraji P. Henson and Meagan Good in LA. Ty Dolla Sign was also present at the event.
Complex has reached out to YG’s attorney for comment. This post may be updated.
In January 2020, YG was arrested at his LA home after being served a search warrant by police. The rapper was suspected of being involved in a 2018 robbery but charges were not filed due to lack of evidence.
