Whitney McClain feels “Good With Pain”

LA-based singer/songwriter Whitney McClain shares the lyric video for her EP cut “Good With Pain.” Taken from her recently released EP, the track is inspired by her own life experiences in the love department, McClain dives deep into the hills and crests that comes with the territory.

The track produced by Da Beatfreakz is a mix of contemporary pop, R&B and oul. An expertly crafted backdrop rife with riveting acoustic guitars, groovy live drum arrangement while McClain’s Lilting vocals slowly envelopes it all. Sure enough, it has a feel-good atmosphere but the emotional pain she pours on the track is thicker than frozen cheese. From proclaiming “…I am a soldier for your love…” she acknowledges the toxicity surrounding her and even takes it further with “…So come shoot me down, all of your bullets ricochet off of me/ But I’ll be ok ’cause I’m good with pain…” Doing anything in her means to make it work, she absorbs all the hurt while living life with a smile that is painted on.

“Good With Pain” is taken from her sophomore EP Letters from a Broken Heart. The EP boasts production from Da Beatfreakz, Ralph Stacy, and Marlon L. McClain II, and it’s the first installment of a 4-part EP collection.
