Top 5 Up-And-Coming Female Artists To Watch For In 2021

Despite being a rough year for live music and festivals, 2020 was full of discoveries. Below, you will find the 5 up-and-coming female artists who managed to capture our attention in 2020 and whom we are looking forward to closely following in 2021.

Even though not much is known about 16-year-old musician KALI, her music will definitely get stuck in your head. No doubt the artist will make some decent noise in the industry in a couple of years. Her scrappy, sharp guitar produced sound filled with energetic rock-driven melodies is grungy in a unique scrappy way, making her songs stand out with a special charm.

This four-piece female collective POM POM SQUAD is empowering and inspirational to the core. The Brooklyn-based frontwoman Mia Berrin, bassist Mari Alé Figeman, drummer Shelby Keller, and guitarist Alex Mercuri make sure to create a sound that resembles their bold and unapologetic nature. The talented girls can be noisy and loud, heart-breakingly authentic, and beautifully motivational. Their shreddy guitar-rock sound will enchant your whole being immediately. It is amazing how they stay true to themselves in every release.

Mix bold and provocative aesthetics make fiery sensations inevitable. Rising U.K. singer and rapper BREE RUNWAY is not described as “it’s like lady gaga, and Lil Kim had a love child” for nothing in Runway’s YouTube description. The artist really puts out powerful energy captivating the audience with no significant effort. People are just drawn to her vibe, and she clearly knows it. Her recent EP called 2000AND4EVA is evidence that the artist has chosen her path and moves towards her goals confidentially.

Debuting her musical career with the enchanting single “Bien,” this multitalented and multidimensional artist positioned herself as a creator not afraid of experiments. AICHA DOSSO modernized Parisian cabaret music and mixed it with New York City’s energy, getting a unique sound that stands out immediately. Born in Ivory Coast, raised in Paris, the artist moved to NYC to study acting at the acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Her multicultural background is evident in her music, making it sound fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Hopefully, we will hear more from her in 2021, as she definitely captured our attention, leaving us craving for more of her cosmopolitan, jazzy sound.

The U.K.-based British-Jamaican artist CELESTE left everyone in awe with her smokey, rich, classical vocals. She worked with FINNEAS and received BRITs Rising Star award in 2020. The artist already announced the release date of her debut album, Not Your Muse. It will be out on February 26, 2021, and we can’t wait to see what she has prepared for us.
