This Is The Deep drops creative clay visuals for “Glass” [Video]

London psych-pop project This Is The Deep are one of those unique bands concocting mesmerizing music that sucks you in with its cinematic elegance. Now the seven-piece collective release their single “Glass” with accompanying quirky visuals and the track possesses that same larger than life sound. With rich, vibrant arrangements and Depeche Mode-esque vocals a la “Personal Jesus”, the song exudes a rare captivating quality. The track details falling and feeling apprehensive of where you’ll end up. The visuals illustrate that idea of descending as an action figure gets pulled into another dimension through his television. Landing in a Loony Tunes style world, the surreal setting comes complete with a colorful cowboy and popcorn clouds. They reveal of the video in a statement,“We’re interested in working with the tropes of visual media and popular culture and how they affect the way we perceive and ultimately construct the world.”

The eclectic group is made up of Susie Honeyman (Mekons) on fiddle, Sammy Silue on guitar and vocals, Ranald Macdonald on synth and vocals, Hannah Tilson on Trombone and vocals, David Bardon and Oscar Robertson on bass and drums, and electronic drums and percussion from Liam Toon.  Their debut EP ‘The Best Is Yet To Come (Part 1)’ is set to release the end of May. Check out the wacky, western visuals now.
