Tech N9ne Recalls Sexual Relationship With Middle School Teacher: ‘I Didn’t Look at It as Rape’

Tech N9ne has opened up about a story from his childhood, when he had an intimate relationship with his 7th-grade teacher.

In an interview on an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast released on Monday (April 21), the Strange Music co-founder revealed that his teacher was 21 years old at the time and he was “going on 13.”

The teacher, Tech said, became interested in him after he showed her a photo of his father in a police uniform.

After that, she began to compliment his physical appearance every day. Eventually, Tech recalled, “I got to skipping lunch to go visit her, while she’s by herself—and I’m just going to leave it at that, to be safe.”

He went on to say that they graduated to having sex at her house after school, under the guise of tutoring.

At one point, another student saw them kiss and reported it.

“They called us to the office, and called the teacher to the office, too, and I was sweating. They said, ‘This is alarming.’ She’s like, ‘I would never! With a student?!’ I remember her pleading her case… Nothing happened. We didn’t get in trouble because I didn’t tell.”

When host Bunnie Xo pointed out that he was getting molested by the teacher, Tech agreed, but said he didn’t view it that way at the time.

“I didn’t look at it as rape, because I was in love,” he confessed. “But, true, it is.”

“She groomed you,” Bunnie added. “I love that you didn’t internalize it as being molested, you know? But responsibly, I have to say, if that was a man doing that to a little girl, we would all fucking lose our minds.”

Tech shared that he “heard stories later on that I wasn’t the only one.”
