Soulja Boy Testifies in Sexual Assault Trial, Denies ‘Disgusting’ Allegations
Soulja Boy testified in his sexual assault civil trial on Tuesday.
According to Rolling Stone, the rapper vehemently denied allegations in a lawsuit brought forth by a woman who allegedly lived with him and served as his personal assistant. Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Cortez Way, is accused of sexual battery, rape, assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, unpaid overtime, and a hostile work environment.
When asked if he ever struck his accuser in the mouth and forced her to give him oral sex, Soulja Boy responded, “Of course not, and that’s a disgusting allegation. It sounds crazy to me. I did not do that.”
The 34-year-old admitted to a sexual encounter with the woman when police showed up to his rental home to serve a search warrant, but maintained that there was consent on her part. “I asked her if she wanted to have sex, and she was engaged in it,” he said. “She didn’t push me or say stop, nothing like that.”
Soulja Boy testified last week after being called as a hostile witness by Doe’s attorney. During that examination, the rapper denied that she was his personal assistant. He was then shown a video of himself shopping on Rodeo Drive in Jan. 2019, in which he can be heard asking, “Where’s [Doe]? Where’s my assistant?”
The woman eventually showed up with his bags.
“We were in a public setting, and I didn’t want to refer to her as ‘blunt roller’ with cameras and people around,” Soulja Boy explained. “I thought it was more appropriate to call her ‘assistant.'”
The rapper claimed he provided her with a place to stay, and she was tasked with “rolling weed.”
Doe testified last month, detailing months of alleged physical, sexual and verbal abuse. “I wanted to die,” the woman said. “I didn’t want to be there anymore. I just wanted to go home.”
The lawsuit alleges Soulja Boy punched her in the head “at least 10 times,” raped her several times, and locked her in rooms for days, while also depriving her of food.
