Sada Baby Arrested for Alleged Possession of a Controlled Substance in Michigan

Sada Baby was arrested this week in the Detroit suburb of Sterling Heights, online jail records show. As of this writing, Sada appears to still be in custody, at least according to local reports.

Online jail records show that Casada Sorrell, a.k.a. Sada Baby, was arrested on Tuesday, April 8. The Sterling Heights Police Department is listed as the arresting agency, with Sada listed as being accused of possession of a controlled substance in an amount less than 25 grams. As of this writing, bond type was shown as “no bond,” meaning Sada may continue to be held for the time being.

Complex has reached out to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, the Sterling Heights Police Department, and a rep for Sada Baby for comment. This story may be updated.

As further detailed in a report from The Detroit News, this week’s arrest is related to a prior one from January involving a warrant for driving without a license. During the course of that arrest, local police said they found what was described at the time as “illegal contraband,” though specifics on what, exactly, was allegedly found in the vehicle was not immediately clarified. This month, per the same report, another warrant was issued, this time for possession.

Fans may recall that Sada Baby briefly addressed the January arrest on social media, saying on Instagram that he was “super good” despite the incident.

In March, Sada shared the 14-track project Bridge Kard Blessings. Featured on the project, which marked his first full-length since 2023’s SkuBop, was a previously released remix to JMSN’s belatedly-made-viral hit “Soft Spot.”
