Rich Brian is re-imagined as a badass figure skater in the music video for “Cold,” the latest from his debut album Amen, which came out last week.
The video, which aptly matches the song’s name, show the 18-year-old rapper drenched in colored lights and feathered costumes, skating his way to homemade-looking trophies in a hometown skating rink.
Punctuated by the matter–fact first line “saw a car crash it remind me our first date,” Brian’s “Cold” continues in its honesty trajectory, with musings on perspective and relationships that have turned slightly more raunchy since his recent come-up.
The video was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, who is most known for his work with Goldlink on the Grammy-nominated “Crew,” and Rich Brian’s fellow 88rising collective member Joji for “will he.”
Joji, Rich Brian and other members the Asian collective artists are set to play a sold-out show Tuesday night (Feb. 20) at Terminal 5, before Rich Brian embarks on his own headlining European tour starting in Paris on March 1.
