R. Kelly ‘Feels Sympathy’ for Diddy Amidst Sex Trafficking Trial

R. Kelly has extended sympathy to Sean “Diddy” Combs in the midst of his federal sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy trial.

TMZ recently spoke with Kelly’s lawyer, Beau Brindley, who relayed the singer’s sentiments about Diddy’s trial.

“He’s aware of it. He feels sympathy for what Diddy is going through. They were not friends and I don’t mean to suggest that,” said Brindley. “In reality, he sympathizes with anybody that’s being put through this because he knows what has happened to him… If it’s anything like what was done to him, he feels for him.”

R. Kelly’s name was brought up during the fourth week of Diddy’s trial when the music mogul’s ex-assistant, going by the pseudonym ‘Mia,’ was asked to recount text interactions she had with Diddy. In her message to Diddy, she thanked him for saving her from Kelly.

“Just thinking of you today and every day. Also no lie, last night I had a nightmare I was trapped in an elevator with R. Kelly and I screamed for you and you came to rescue me,” she said. “So thank you for that too. Sending you love.”

On Tuesday (June 10), Kelly’s attorneys requested for President Trump to assist him in getting out of federal custody in an emergency motion.

In the motion, the attorneys allege that federal authorities conspired to pressure Kelly’s former girlfriend to testify against him, as well as recruited a white supremacist gang leader to murder him while he’s in prison.

“R. Kelly’s life is now threatened, because of his willingness to fight and to expose the very kind of corruption that President Trump has been fighting and standing up to since the day he took that office,” said Brindley at a press conference. “We will ask President Trump to help us.”

“We are seeking a conversation with the president, because R. Kelly does not have the time, with his life in danger, to go through the normal channels,” Brindley said. “We are seeking talks with the White House. We are seeking talks with everybody who is willing to help us.”
