Princess Nokia Accuses Ariana Grande of Stealing Her Sound on ‘7 Rings’

Ariana Grande launched one more single to a lot fanfare on Friday (Jan. 18), however some folks aren’t precisely bopping their heads alongside to “7 Rings.” Princess Nokia took to Twitter to accuse Grande of copying and appropriating her music “Mine.”

The 26-year-old rapper posted a video of herself listening to “7 Rings” and making confused facial expressions earlier than switching to “Mine” and saying to the digital camera, “Hmm, try this sound acquainted to you? Because that sounds actually acquainted to me. Oh my God. Ain’t that the little music I made about brown girls and their hair? Sounds about white.” Nokia even tagged Grande in her tweet. “Mine” was launched in 2017 as a part of her debut studio album 1992 Deluxe, whereas “7 Rings” is the second single to be launched from Grande’s upcoming fifth studio album, Thank U, Next.
