Playboi Carti Relationship Rumors Hit New Level After Summer Walker Refers to Gio as His ‘Wife’

By now, you’ve no doubt seen the screenshots circulating on X and elsewhere in which Giovanna Ramos, more commonly known as Gio, is referred to as Playboi Carti’s “wife.” While many fans were quick to pick up on this word choice, especially given its arrival amid ongoing relationships rumors involving Carti and Gio, it’s worth pointing out here, as usual, that absolutely nothing has been outright confirmed involving the rumored couple.

Still, we’ve done our best to answer a few key questions about the two below.

Who is Gio?

You might recall the Atlanta-based Gio from a 2023 conversation with Jordan Rose for Complex surrounding her appearance on the cover of Lil Yachty’s “Slide” single and in the track’s official video. At the time, Gio told Complex that she had been modeling since 2019.

“Honestly, I just like to have fun with [modeling],” she told Complex. “I think the best part about modeling is that I’m 100 percent myself and that might be the reason I grew my socials so fast and people fuck with me so hard.”

That last part is undeniable, as Gio has over a million followers on Instagram alone. Her IG bio bills her as a “blogger.”

What did Summer Walker say about Gio and Playboi Carti?

Screenshots making the rounds on various fan accounts showed Summer Walker thanking Carti for adding “a great finishing touch” to her new album.

“You were a perfect gentleman and your wife is so sweet n funny,” she added.

What has Playboi Carti said about Gio?

Carti is a man of very few words. He did, however, share photos of himself and Gio amid 2025 Met Gala proceedings earlier this week, notably alleging that he had been “banned” from the event for unspecified reasons. In the update, which he shared to his frequently active Opium Finsta, Carti said it “felt like we got kicked out of prom but we good,” adding that he’s “a happy man” thanks to having Gio by his side. The two were also spotted siting courtside at a Hawks game earlier this year.
