PHOTOGRAPHER AND ARCHITECT MAJED VEYSEL CAPTURES THE WORLD IN BLACK AND WHITE

Aleppo Syria native, Majed Veysel is a photographer with an interesting outlook on life. After he studied at an American school in the heart of Aleppo, he moved to Bahçeehir Üniversitesi in Istanbul, where he worked towards earning his degree in architecture. A few years later, the young photographer enrolled into a master’s program in Italy where his love and passion for the two intertwined and became one. Today, Majed Veysel displays his photography in a unique way, in plain and simple black and white.

Veysel is one of the youngest photographers to travel to ten different cities around the world and capture its scenic views in a series of black and white photos. For him, displaying black and white photos is a way for him to express himself as he sees the world in the two extremes. Black and white photos are classic, bold, raw, and embodies a natural pureness. Veysel believes that this allows viewers to imagine the world in the way they’ve always wanted to see it. Nothing predetermined for them, but in the ‘colors’ that they wished it would be. Black and white photos hold an affectionate place in a viewers heart due to their incomparable mystique and mood.
