Offset Shares Message to Rich Homie Quan’s Family Following His Death, Wishes Them Prosperity

Offset has some touching words for Rich Homie Quan’s family following the rapper’s recent death.

The Migos rapper spoke on the red carpet at Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players celebration about Quan following news of his passing. In his statement, he addressed the late rapper’s family. “I wish you guys some type of prosperity, some type of overcoming of it,” said Offset.

“Shoutout to Rich Homie Quan, that’s a Day 1 artist that we all came up in the same lab, same kitchen, trying to make it happen,” he continued. “That’s a tragic thing in hip-hop. RIP to you and bless your family.”

Since the death of Quan due to a suspected drug overdose, there’s been an outpouring of grief from the people who knew him. The late rapper’s father, Corey Lamar, posted a wrenching message on Instagram, writing, “Unbearable pain. Lord please please please help me to understand this.”

Prior to that, Lil Kim, who was a close friend of Quan, paid her condolences with a set of videos that highlighted how close they were. “No one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had,” she continued. “U always pulled up for me no matter what. I’ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in heaven my angel.”

Ralo, however, took a different approach to remembering Quan — instead lashing out at the “fake” people publicly remembering the rapper that previously assumed that he was a “rat” following rumors that he was participating in the YSL Rico trial.

“See that that shit I be talking about,” said Ralo in the video he posted. “Y’all n***as be so fake. The whole world was just calling this man, Rich Homie Quan, a rat. Soon as he die, ‘Oh, that was my friend. I love him.’ Boy, y’all n***as so goddamn fake ’round this muthafucka, man.”

Quan passed away on Sept. 5 at 33 years old. He started rapping in 2011 and found mainstream success with his smash hit “Type of Way” in 2013, followed by “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” in 2015.
