Nicki Minaj Hit With Assault and Battery Lawsuit by Former Manager
Nicki Minaj has been hit with a lawsuit by her former day-to-day manager, who’s accusing her of assault.
According to a report by TMZ, Minaj is being sued by Brandon Garrett, who allegedly worked as her manager during her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. Garrett is suing Minaj for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, seeking damages.
The lawsuit stated Nicki had been critiquing people on her team and eventually barked at Garrett for sending someone else to pick up one of her prescriptions. She then threatened that her husband would “knock out” his teeth and claimed he “just fucked up your whole life.”
“Are you fucking crazy having him pick up my prescription” Nicki allegedly told Garrett, according to the lawsuit. “You have lost your fucking mind and if my husband were here, he would knock out your fucking teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just fucked up your whole life and you will never be anyone, I’ll make sure of it.”
Garrett claimed Nicki continued to yell at him before striking him with an open hand on his face. He added the force of Nicki’s strike caused his hat to fly off his head and claimed her security team stepped in before she allegedly hit him on his right wrist.
Nicki allegedly then told Garret to “get the fuck out” of the room, which he did by hiding in the bathroom at Little Caesars Arena where he called his fiancée out of fear for his safety. Garrett also said that Nicki’s team didn’t allow him back on the tour bus and left him stranded in Detroit.
Not long after TMZ reported the lawsuit, Judd Burstein, Nicki Minaj’s attorney, responded to the allegations on her behalf, dismissing them as “false and frivolous.”
“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations,” he told the outlet. “However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
