Nicki Minaj, Chance the Rapper and More React to Pop Smoke’s Unexpected Death: ‘Way Too Young’

The rapper was 20.

Rising rapper Pop Smoke died Wednesday morning (Feb. 19). According to an initial TMZ story, the artist was reportedly shot and killed during a home invasion in the Hollywood Hills. 

In the wake of the news, Pop Smoke's fellow hip-hop stars and other celebrities are turning to social media to offer their condolences and react to the tragic news. "The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop," Nicki Minaj wrote alongside a photo of the rapper on Instagram.

"RIP POP SMOKE. Rap game fucked up man. Kid was 20. Kmt," Chip tweeted, while others flooded Twitter with proclamations of "Rest in Peace" for the 20-year-old star.
