Morgan Wallen Leaves ‘SNL’ Stage Abruptly, Posts Message About Getting ‘Back to God’s Country’

Morgan Wallen’s sudden exit at the end of this week’s Saturday Night Live, along with a cryptic Instagram story posted shortly after has the kids talking.

The country star was this week’s musical guest alongside Anora star Mikey Madison, who hosted the episode.

After performing the songs “I’m The Problem” and “Just In Case” from his upcoming album, Wallen joined Madison on stage at the end of the show to salute the audience, a ritual that has become a SNL tradition. But after sharing a brief hug with Madison, Wallen abruptly walked off stage rather than commiserate with the rest of the cast, another SNL tradition.

Later that night, Wallen shared a photo of his private jet on Instagram with the caption, “Get me to God’s country.”

The post only fueled speculation that Wallen did not enjoy his SNL experience, as evidenced by some of the reactions seen below.

According to Variety, sources from Wallen’s team all he did was exit the stage the same way he did during rehearsal, and there was absolutely no shade meant to be thrown.

Wallen last appeared on SNL in December 2020, not long after he was replaced for an earlier episode after violating SNL’s strict COVID-19 safety protocols.
