Megan Thee Stallion Recruits BTS’ RM for New Track “Neva Play” Ahead of VMAs Hosting Gig

All eyes are on Megan Thee Stallion ahead of the 2024 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, making now the ideal time to roll out a new RM collab.

As Megan told fans in the days leading up to the “Neva Play” rollout, the song, out now and available here, boasts one of her personal favorite verses from the BTS leader. In Megan’s words, she’s “never heard him rap in this style before.”

Naturally, Megan and company have opted to commemorate the occasion with a limited-edition CD single that’s set to ship out this week. For more info, see here.

Next Wednesday, Megan will be joining this year’s VMAs festivities as host. The three-time Grammy winner is up for seven potential awards at this year’s UBS Arena-set ceremony, including Song of Summer and Best Collaboration, both for her and GloRilla’s “Wanna Be.” The 2024 roster of performers also boasts Megan’s name, though it’s not yet been confirmed which track, exactly, she’ll be bringing to the New York stage on Sept. 11.

Additional confirmed performers include Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Benson Boone, Anitta, Fat Joe, Dj Khaled, Tiago PZK, Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, and more.

“Neva Play” follows the release of the prolific Texan’s Megan album in June, marking her third full-length studio release. The album debuted at No. 3 and spurred multiple singles, including the recent music video-ized Yuki Chiba collab “Mamushi.”
