Meek Mill Responds to Criticism Over Fan Photo in Dubai Amid Shannon Sharpe Lawsuit
Meek Mill has responded to the backlash he received on social media after posting a photo of himself and two fans in Dubai.
On Tuesday, Meek hopped onto his Instagram Story and shared The Shade Room’s post of a photo he took with two seemingly white women in Dubai. The image landed Meek in hot water earlier this week, as fans dragged him for posting it.
The reason fans were upset was due to Shannon Sharpe’s recent legal troubles, where an ex-girlfriend, who is reportedly white, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. Although Meek has nothing to do with Sharpe’s issue, fans believed he should’ve read the room and passed on sharing a photo of himself with white women.
Meek eventually caught wind of all the chatter and offered a response to all of it in his IG Story post: “Why they keep posting me on blogs with 2 fans…who makes the decisions of what Meek post to put on blogs? lol.”
He followed that up with a comment under TheShadeRoom’s post of the photo, clarifying that he thinks people are dragging the whole situation: “It’s a regular pic with fans internet melting the minds of the black community wthelly.”
“He saw Shannon sharpe situation and said I’ll take 2 please 😂,” one user wrote under The Shade Room upload.
Another user wrote: “Boy they like paying for attorneys.”
“Must ain’t seen what happen to Shannon,” reads another comment.
The latest update in Sharpe’s rape lawsuit comes from the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, who released an audio recording of a phone call between Sharpe and the woman. In the recording, Sharpe seemingly threatens to choke the woman in public, which Buzbee alleges is a “fair picture” of the relationship before the alleged assault took place.
