Mariah the Scientist ‘Devastated’ Over Young Thug Jail Visit Denial on Three-Year Anniversary: ‘It’s Always Some Sh*t’
Mariah the Scientist took to Instagram Live to express her frustrations after she was unable to visit Young Thug in jail on their third anniversary.
The Atlanta singer shared that she stopped in a Party City on her way to the Fulton County Jail to pick up a sign commemorating their anniversary which could be displayed during their visit.
With her “Happy Anniversary” sign and Scotch Magic Tape in tow, Mariah learned she would not be allowed to partake in the virtual visit with her incarcerated boyfriend because she was told the system was down.
“I done drove all the way to this motherfucking jail. The jail is like thirty minutes away from the city,” she explained. “It’s not face-to-face, it’s through a screen by the way. I done drove all the the way to this mothetfucking jail with my little ‘Happy Anniversary’ sign and my motherfucking Scotch Tape for me to get inside of the jail and for them to say the system is down.”
Mariah said she was “sad” and “devastated” when thinking about about everything she did to prepare for his visit on their anniversary, only to find out she could not see Thug. However, it didn’t stop her completely as she indicated she’ll try again another time. “I done did all this shit and now I can’t see my man on my anniversary,” she added. “It’s always some shit, huh? That’s ok that’s fine, it’s whatever, I’ll try it again.”
Mariah the Scientist and Young Thug were first rumored to be in a relationship about one year before the rapper was arrested on gang and racketeering charges. Thugger remains behind bars throughout the course of the YSL RICO case, which has already become the longest trial in Georgia history—and it shows no signs of ending anytime soon.
“It is kind of like [long-distance] but I get to see him in court, so I be going to court,” Mariah said of their relationship on a recent episode of Angel Reese’s Apologetically Angel podcast. “Sometimes I fall asleep in there. I just go to breathe his air… I love my man, yes. I love him.”
“It’s hard… If somebody told me that a few months into my relationship my man would get locked up?,” she continued. “He’s been locked up now for longer than we were in a relationship before he got locked up.”
