Lucy DK shares visuals for new R&B track “Queen Bed” [Video]

South East London’s singer Lucy DK breaks away from labels and tags on her new single “Queen Bed” which comes with accompanying visuals. The singer merges a range of styles and emotions on this one, from the bright pop sounds, soulful elements and youthful exuberance. She dives into the dynamics of mental health/stagnation and delivers an impassioned performance peppered with tongue-in-cheek sensibilities. With the current global pandemic forever changing our individual lives, Lucy DK acknowledges the pressure black women face on a daily and implores her fellow women to never neglect their mental health and focus on self-love whenever they can.

The visual is directed by Reece Selvadorai who goes for a highly expressive and motif-laden visual. A seamless blend of long performance shots and bright costumes showcases Lucy DK in her true element in a bedroom set. It’s quite cheeky and taps into the concept of finding solace by hiding out in one’s room.

Lucy DK actually won a musical scholarship to move to Nashville, with dreams of entering the country music scene but things didn’t go as plan and proceeded to release her debut Waterlilies in 2020 and after spending time in the US, she is now back in South East London focusing on her music career.
