Lizzo Says She’s Taking a ‘Gap Year’ to Protect Her ‘Peace’
Lizzo‘s recent Bali retreat was used as a chance for the 4-time Grammy winner to protect her peace.
While the “About Damn Time” artist has largely been out of the headlines as of late, but on Sunday (August 25), the singer posted a video of herself on her social platforms wearing a bathing suit and basking in the rain.
“I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace🙏🏾” she captioned the clip.
The clip was followed by another, this time showing Lizzo taking a quick jump rope session on the same balcony.
The artist’s social media posts have mainly been positive and affirmational in recent time, including a recap of her years-long friendship with SZA and documenting her workout routines.
In March, Lizzo made an Instagram post where she threatened to “quit,” later clarifying in a video that she isn’t retiring from music, but “giving any negative energy attention.”
“What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people,” she explained. “‘Cause I know I’m not alone. In no way, shape or form, am I the only person who is experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive.”
