Lisa Drops the Video for Future-Assisted Single “Fxck Up the World”

It’s a big day for Lisa fans.

At midnight on Friday, the Blackpink member returned with the official video for “Fxck Up the World” featuring Atlanta’s very own Future. Lisa teased the release in a Feb. 27 Instagram post, sharing a clip in which she was shown in a padded room rocking a sinister smile.

While the song features a verse from Future, Lisa has released the ‘Vixi Solo Version’ of her video without a cameo from the ATL rap legend. In the clip, Lisa is seen in a mysterious holding cell before breaking out for a night filled with video games, dancing, and joyriding.

“Fxck Up the World” is the latest single from Lisa’s debut solo album, Alter Ego. The milestone project was announced back in November and finally hit streaming services Friday. According to a press release, the LP will find the singer/rapper emulating “five characters each representing a unique personality.” The figures — Vixi, Roxi, Kiki, Sunni, and Speedi — are “represented by the five points on a star, which has become a key emblem in the campaign.”

She spoke about the concept during a January appearance on Capital Breakfast, explaining how she came up with the idea.

“It’s such a fun concept,” she said. “I was trying so many different kinds of music and styles while I was recording and stuff,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh, well, I’ve never done this kind of stuff before, but it sounds great. Why not just put all the different styles into the album and call it Alter Ego?’”

Lisa also confirmed she recorded some of the album while filming White Lotus Season 3 in Thailand.

“I don’t sleep,” she joked about working on both projects. “I wanted to release a new song at the same time when I was filming the White Lotus, so we made it happen… We flew people all the way to the south of Thailand to record.”

Alter Ego spans 15 tracks, including the previously released “Rockstar,” “New Woman” with Rosalía, “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” and “Born Again” featuring Doja Cat and RayeMegan Thee Stallion and Tyla also assisted the “Rapunzel” “When I’m with You” cuts, respectively.

You can stream Alter Ego now on all major platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.
