Lil Gotit and Young Thug Share the Video for the Hypnotic “Playa Chanel”

With his unique sense of melody and capacity for effortless flexing, Lil Gotit is establishing himself as the heir to ATL’s trap throne. Getting the seal of approval from one of the scene’s heavy hitters, Gotit shares “Playa Chanel,” a new video featuring Young Thug. Over a hypnotic beat produced by Supah Mario (Lil Uzi Vert’s “Myron”) and Luca Starz, Gotit and Thug flash complementary styles, Gotit switches up see-sawing melodies and staccato rhythms as Thug uses his higher register to spit outrageous bars.

Directed by Never Panic, the video for “Playa Chanel” finds Gotit and Thug taking their foreigns to a desolate, ornate mansion, where they brave rainy weather with help from models and homies, including Gotit’s brother Lil Keed. A feast for the eyes with aesthetically pleasing set design and gleefully maximalist outfits, “Playa Chanel” is the latest video from Top Chef Gotit, his latest project, following the posse-friendly video for “Get N Dere Gang” ft. Lil Keed & Yak Gotti, which has over 1 million views in one week.

On the follow-up to last year’s Hood Baby 2, Gotit’s flex-heavy witticisms and easy melodies cohere into a compelling aesthetic, one that relies on Gotit’s ability to create unconventional flows. Top Chef Gotit is home to recent singles like the sizzling hot “Wok,” the 69 Boyz-sampling banger “Toosie,” the simmering  “Burnt N Turnt” ft. NAV, and “Work Out,” which features an appearance from Gunna, the project’s executive producer. Earning coverage from Complex, The FADER, and Pitchfork, who had fun making Gotit’s trademark Lemon Pepper Wings recipe, Top Chef Gotit marks Gotit’s ascension into Atlanta’s trap elite.
