Kid Cudi Says Home Intruder Isn’t ‘Funny’ After Trolling: ‘I Dont Feel Safe Now’

Kid Cudi says his recent home invasion is no laughing matter.

Last Wednesday, the 40-year-old rapper’s Los Angeles home was burglarized by an intruder who reportedly helped himself to food, used the bathroom, and took a shower, according to a report from TMZ.

A source connected to the matter told TMZ that the individual was seen shirtless in Cudi’s kitchen on the property’s security system around 5 p.m.

The intruder, initially believed to be homeless by law enforcement, was arrested and booked for felony burglary and theft of utilities and said to be held on $150,000 bail.

In a statement shared to his Instagram Story on Thursday, Cudi clarified the incident, claiming the man is not homeless but a 34-year-old “crazed fan.”

“Hey, so I wanna clear this up cause I see the internets running w things and making jokes and this shit is not funny. The person that broke into my house was a crazed fan that has been stalking me for years with out me knowing,” he wrote.

The Insano rapper claimed the individual attended his shows and events in the U.S. and abroad, eventually driving across the country to break into his home with hopes of discussing collaboration ideas.

He continued, “There is nothing funny about this. My privacy was violated, and now I have to protect myself. I dont feel safe now. He rummaged through personal things, my fiance’s stuff, took a shower and ate, all while thinking he was actually gonna have a conversation w me. This was an unhinged 34 year old man. Not homeless.

“Im gonna take some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he continued. “Im not online to see the comments, but word got back to me people are making light of this and its not okay. If im standoffish when u see me in public now, this is why.”

The initial break-in happened just a week after wildfires broke out in Los Angeles, forcing Cudi and countless others to evacuate from their homes.
