Jennifer Lopez Says She’s ‘Hopeful’ for Love In the Future
Jennifer Lopez has made it clear that despite her four divorces, she hasn’t lost faith in love.
The singer/actor, who stars in upcoming musical drama Kiss of the Spider Woman, visited CBS Mornings on Thursday (October 9) and discussed her thoughts around finding love again one year after her divorce from Ben Affleck.
The former spouses initially dated and were briefly engaged in the early 2000s before going their separate ways and were married from 2022 to 2024. Despite the breakup, Lopez and Affleck remain on good terms, and the actor and filmmaker joined his ex-wife during a Spider Woman screening this week.
Around the five-minute mark of the video below, CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King recalled Lopez’s past remark of being a “hopeful romantic” and asked whether she still feels that way.
“One hundred percent,” Lopez replied. And the more self-aware I become with the lessons that I learn and the hardships that I go through, the more I feel whole and complete on my own.”
“The more I become hopeful for that same type of person to come into my life,” Lopez continued, adding that she’s “excited for everything in the future.”
Lopez and Affleck’s reunion during the Spider Woman screening sparked rumors of a reconciliation. Affleck, who’s a producer on the film, recommended his ex-wife for the part of Ingrid Luna in Spider Woman. While Lopez was on TODAY this week, she thanked Affleck for helping her land the role she was “born to play.”
“If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have [gotten] made, and I will always give him that credit,” she told CBS Mornings anchor Craig Melvin.
