Dublin quintet Sliverbacks announce debut album with single "Muted Gold" –

Dublin five-piece Silverbacks have been garnering attention for a while with their sleek guitar-led sounds. Today the band are announcing their debut album Fad by sharing the first installment with the eclectic “Muted Gold”.

Littered with jangly guitars and oscillating motifs, “Muted Gold” harnesses art-punk and progresses it with an influx of indie licks. Woven with beefy undertones and layered with fluttering vocal additions from Emma Hanlon, the track draws on the familiar noughties raw edges. Featuring Daniel O’Kelly’s lo-fi, Frank Ferdinand-esque vocals, the single is a showcase of ultimate slacker-rock gold. O’Kelly comments: “The video is loosely inspired by early Stereolab music videos. It’s a collection of clips from a few band outings we had near our practice space before the lockdown began. Fun fact, Peadar used to work in a bowling alley. Despite not having played in years he scored 192 on the day we brought the camera.”

As a taster of their debut album, “Muted Gold” is rather moreish. Keep your eyes out for more tunes dropping ahead of their LP. Fad is released Central Tones on July 17th.
