Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis Found Guilty of 2 Charges in 2024 Jail Fight
Duane “Keefe D” Davis has been found guilty for his role in a fight that happened at the detention center where he’s being held in custody for his alleged involvement in Tupac Shakur‘s murder.
On Wednesday, a grand jury found Davis guilty of battery by a prisoner and issuing challenges to fight, stemming from a brawl with a fellow inmate following a personal visit in December, according to KTNV. Davis’ sentencing for this case will happen on May 27.
Footage from the incident shows Davis walking with an officer inside the detention center when another inmate began swinging at him. The two men ended up tumbling to the floor and throwing punches at each other while the officer appeared to be spraying them with something before more officers came to intervene.
Davis reportedly told officers that he was standing his ground but didn’t say anything else regarding the scuffle. The 61-year-old was accused of Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder in September 2023 and was indicted by a grand jury.
In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Davis was filled with emotion and maintained his innocence by saying there’s a lack of necessary evidence to convict him of 2Pac’s murder.
“They ain’t got no evidence. They don’t got nothing. They know they don’t have nothing,” said Davis about the drive-by shooting. “They can’t even place me out here [at the time of shooting]. They don’t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing. Everybody on video but Keefe D. This is wrong, man.”
He added, in response to past comments he made about the case, “I shouldn’t have said nothing. I shouldn’t have said nothing. And I’m innocent, man. And God got my back and God will see me through this.”
