Drake Surprise Drops Three New Songs Including “No Face” Feat. Playboi Carti

Drake just dropped three new tracks via his burner Instagram account. Side note: is it even a burner since it’s confirmed to be his now?

The songs in question are “No Face,” featuring Playboi Carti, “Supersoak (SOD), and “Circadian Rhythm (The Language 2).”

It’s worth mentioning that Drake dropped these three songs on Lil Yachty’s birthday since one of the new releases is “Supersoak (SOD).” This version doesn’t feature Lil Yachty, but previously did before rumors of a rift between the two surfaced. A couple of days ago, DJ Akademiks hinted that Drake took Yachty off the track, seemingly prompting Yachty to unfollow and later refollow him on Instagram.

Lil Yachty previously admitted to leaking the version of “Supersoak” that he was on with Drake when social media comedian Mr. Hotspot wouldn’t clear a sample of his viral song “Goodness Gracious” due to religious reasons.

“He went down, like, a Christian path,” said Lil Yachty on the Flagrant podcast with Andrew Schultz. “I don’t think we got into money. He was like, ‘No.’ It was crazy, Everyone was like, ‘Are you serious?’”

Mr. Hotspot then offered to allow them to sample his viral tune if they made the lyrics more PG-friendly.

Drake’s burner, plotttwisttttttt, was unearthed earlier this month when he dropped three songs on it: “Housekeeping Knows” with Latto, “Blue Green Red,” and “It’s Up,” with 21 Savage.

The release of the songs was accompanied by the reveal of a website called 100gigs.org (which featured the message “100 gigs for your head top”) where these songs, plus studio footage, backstage moments, reference tracks and more appeared.

On the website, footage from Drake’s vault revealed a bunch of interesting details in his career — mainly that “Hotline Bling” nearly had Future on it, the song “Too Good” was about Serena Williams, and his project Dark Lane Demos was originally going to be Care Package 2.

Drake recently appeared on Benny the Butcher’s “Buffalo Freestyle” that hit streaming services on Aug. 22 (except for Apple Music) as part of the Buffalo Butch, Vol 1 EP. Soon after it dropped, it was removed shortly after. Benny the Butcher hasn’t addressed what happened — but probably will since he’s been teasing the track for the last four years.
