Drake Says He Wants to Get Into His Emo ‘Bag,’ Bursts Into Emo-Style Singing Mid-Interview
Drake says he’s trying to get into his emo bag.
In an interview with Bobbi Althoff, Drake veered into unexpected territory when the podcast host asked him about marriage plans.
“I really feel like my destiny is to end up with a [funny] goth baddie with just absolute O cups,” Drake said around the 47-minute mark in the video linked below.
Drake’s response left Althoff stunned as he said that finding his type is “tougher than you think.”
“I am, like, the opposite of what they want,” said the 38-year-old rapper, who also noted that WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley is his “muse.”
Althoff asked Drake if his ideal suitor should already have experience as a “goth baddie” or if they could transform themselves into that type for him.
“I feel like you have to have some authenticity,” Drake clarified.
“So start now if you want to meet him in five years,” she quipped.
“Get gothy,” Drake said.
“What does that mean even? Like, just they wear all black and they have black hair and they wear dark makeup?” Althoff asked.
Suddenly, Drake broke into song, crooning in an exaggerated emo style reminiscent of Y2K era bands.
“What are you singing? I feel like I’ve heard what you’re singing. Can I Shazam this?” Althoff asked.
“No, I just made that up. But I’m just saying that’s like the bag I want to get in,” Drake replied.
Despite all the joking, Drake insisted to Althoff that he wasn’t intentionally choosing an obscure type of woman to be “evasive.”
“I want to be, like, seen and I want to be loved by a goth baddie,” he said. “I’m just being real. That’s just what I have in my head. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, like Drake likes strippers. Drake, like, loves BBLs.’”
The one-and-half-hour interview also saw the pair discussing speculation about his fake abs and BBLs, accusations of being a “culture vulture,” the time he spent nine hours in a Swedish jail, whether or not he’s scared of returning to Los Angeles in light of his feud with Kendrick Lamar, and much more.
Whether Drake’s upcoming Iceman album will feature any emo-style tracks remains to be seen.
