Demi Lovato Admits She Was ‘So Stoned’ Singing “Skyscraper” to Traumatized Ghost on TV Show

Demi Lovato revealed she wasn’t sober when she sang “Skyscraper” to a ghost about four years ago.

Speaking with Trisha Paytas on her JUST TRISH podcast that dropped on Thursday, the 33-year-old singer said she was “so stoned” when she sang the 2011 song to a ghost. Lovato sang “Skyscraper” to a spirit, or “ghost,” named Carmen in a 2021 episode of her Peacock docuseries Unidentified with Demi Lovato.

“I am very spiritual and I do believe in the paranormal and and things like that,” she explained when the topic came up around the 36-minute mark. “I will not deny that at all. The whole show was about like me going and finding aliens and ghosts and like doing that fun stuff. But I was at a it was a time in my life where I just happened to be smoking a lot of weed and then that moment came and I was very stoned.”

“Honestly haven’t watched it back because I cringe out of my soul,” she joked. “But it’s also It’s such a funny moment now that I can laugh at it and I’m like, “Wait, that’s amazing.” But like I don’t remember exactly where it came from but that I was I was like you know what this girl this ghost has trauma and we’re going to sing to her.”

While investigating a haunted property, Lovato sang “Skyscraper” to a spirit with past “trauma” involving men in a 2021 episode of her Peacock docuseries Unidentified with Demi Lovato. Peep the episode below.

According to Peacock, the show, which only had one season and four episodes, was an unscripted series where Demi, their sister Dallas, and skeptical friend Matthew investigate UFO phenomena, consulting experts, examining eyewitness accounts, reviewing government reports, and exploring known UFO hotspots.
