Demi Grace Drops New Video Ahead of Her SXSW Performance
This Friday, R&B and Afro-Fusion artist Demi Grace will be performing at SXSW’s CareFreeBlackGirl CookOut but before she does, she’s dropping the video for her song “I’m Okay.”
“I’m Okay” circles back with Demi a week after everything goes down in “Clingy” and “Stay.” Still fresh from her break-up with her boo, Demi styles herself in Cult of Individuality as she takes us on a walk through her thoughts in the busiest part of New York City, Times Square. Stopping at the location where she first saw her face on a billboard, Demi searches for the meaning, beauty, and value of all the chaos that is surrounding her (both physically and metaphorically).
Demi Grace is a British-Nigerian model and R&B and Afro-Fusion artist based in New York. In 2017, Demi made history as the first Nigerian model and woman with locs to be featured in a major hair commercial for Pantene Gold Series. During her first 7-city tour in 2018, Demi was discovered by Ebro Darden and was featured on his Beats1 Radio show Discovered on Apple Music. Prior to that, she performed as a dancer with Beyonce at the VMA’s and Solange at the Guggenheim. In addition to her tour, Demi has performed at Essence Festival, Notting Hill Carnival, House of Blues LA, Lincoln Center, Webster Hall and she will be performing at the 2023 SXSW festival in the Carefree Black Girl Showcase. In September 2022, she released her sophomore album Blackcurrant and in December 2014 she released her debut album Forward Movement Only. To date, her music videos have been played on BET, TRACE, and MTV Base and Demi has been featured as a musician and model in outlets including 300 Entertainment’s 300 Unplugged, On The Radar, Detour Music, Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Essence, Ebony, Sheen, OkayAfrica and more.
