DaniLeigh Cries While Being Arrested for 2023 DUI, Bodycam Footage Shows
DaniLeigh shed a fountain of tears during her 2023 arrest for a DUI and hit-and-run incident.
On Friday, bodycam footage of the arrest was released online and showed police pulling the singer over, who had just struck someone on a scooter. An officer asked if she hit a scooter, to which she said no and was then told to exit the vehicle. Leigh was then put into handcuffs while asking the officers why she was being arrested.
Later in the video, police speak to witnesses who describe the accident, and Quavo showed up randomly, asking what was going on before being told to walk away. Leigh continued to deny that she hit anyone and that witnesses were “lying,” but the officer continued to tell her the incident was recorded on video.
In another part of the video, Leigh performed several sobriety tests, which she failed, and was put in handcuffs again, leading to her crying and continuing to claim she didn’t hit anyone.
The incident occurred in May 2023, and the victim who Leigh hit reportedly suffered a lacerated kidney and a fractured spine. After hitting the person, Leigh continued driving for five more blocks before police eventually got her to stop her car. In February, Leigh was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge and one count of DUI causing serious injury, which is also a felony.
If she completes her five-year probation period without committing any violations, Leigh will have two other charges dismissed, which were leaving the scene of a crime and an additional DUI.
