Cardi B Says She and Her Fans Will ‘Have the Last Laugh’

Cardi B is predicting “the last laugh” for her and her fans, though it’s not immediately clear what, exactly, the Invasion of Privacy Grammy winner is referencing.

In an update to her BG Secret Society broadcast channel on Instagram, Cardi simultaneously expressed playful frustration with her fans while also asserting that she will continue to “put on for y’all” given their years of support.

“The way me and Bardigang gonna have the last laugh muahahaha,” Cardi wrote on Sunday, as seen below. “l can’t stand y’all but I gotta put on for y’all like I put on for my kids ‘cause y’all been holding me down for too long!”

Again, it’s not clear what Cardi and her fans will have the “last laugh” about, though it could be fairly speculated that this is a potential nod to the ongoing discussion surrounding the wait for Cardi’s follow-up to the aforementioned Invasion of Privacy.

That album, Cardi’s studio debut, arrived in 2018 and was met with critical acclaim and commercial success. It later took home the Grammy for Best Rap Album, beating out other top contenders from that year’s eligibility window including Travis Scott’s blockbuster Astroworld and Pusha T’s Ye-helmed Daytona.

Last September, Cardi humorously responded to stats showing the album’s sustaining sales success, like so: “Album still sellin like good quality pussy ….OKAY OKAY let me stop playing and drop this second album.”

Cardi’s “last laugh” prediction could also be in reference to her and Offset’s recent (and publicly aired-out) issues. Just this month, Cardi leveled a number of accusations at her estranged husband during an X Spaces livestream, as well as urged him to “sign these fucking divorce papers.”
