Budding rapper and producer ZZ releases self-directed video “the broken hearts club”
Rising rapper and producer ZZ has dropped his new single "the broken hearts club" ft. Bill, alongside a self directed and produced video.
ZZ and Bill navigate through the empty streets of a night-covered city, flashing back to nostalgic memories of a relationship that’s now in turmoil. ZZ raps as he watches a highlight reel of happier times, subtly referencing his love of filmmaking as he is seen sitting alone in a theater while kaleidoscopic lights of a projector dance behind him. Fuzzy home videos of a love lost are interspersed between the moody video, which ends with ZZ walking away from the toxic tangle he found himself wrapped up in.
Growing up in New Delhi, rising rapper ZZ found his passion for music through exploring different cultures and inspirations, absorbing everything from Indian Bollywood movies to music from Drake and Kanye West. He channeled these early influences into his emotional take on hip hop, beginning his artist project in 2016 with the help of a classmate and budding producer who sparked ZZ’s development of his sound.
The multi-talented rapper relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his musical career, and since then, he’s released a multitude of impressive projects. In 2020, he dropped his debut album RENEGADES. ZZ has worked with some of the biggest names in rap music, having collaborated with FRVRFRIDAY, 24kGoldn, Guapdad 4000, Kodie Shane, and NO1-NOAH. The Indian artist enlisted the help of Drake and A$AP Rocky’s music video director LONEWOLF to bring the visuals for his single “Fire (Cure My Anxiety)” to life, utilizing his love of filmmaking to ensure that his vision is communicated clearly to his audience. Producing, writing, and mixing all of his own tracks, ZZ takes a hands-on role in his creative output.
