Since inking a deal with Roc Nation in 2016, Belly has solidified his standing as a premier hip-hop artist. With JAY-Z providing him the proper tutelage for him to succeed, the Mumble Rap star has flourished through his bevy of releases, songwriting credits, and more. Now, the multifaceted star will keep his torrid streak going with his forthcoming single "What You Want" featuring his XO cohort, The Weeknd, set to drop this week.
"It was the most fun I ever had shooting a video," Belly exclusively tells Billboard. "Me and Abel always have amazing chemistry when we work, but this one takes the cake." Earlier this week, Belly tantalized fans with a snippet of the video on Instagram. Drenched in gaudy jewelry, Belly is spotted warbling in front of a slew of scantily clad models, while The Weeknd can be heard floating on the hook.
"As the years go on and we become better friends and better artists and we’ve gotten to grow together, says Belly. "That’s what makes this and every future collaboration even more special." With 4 billion streams accumulated as an artist and songwriter, it's hard to stymie the rap locomotive, especially with people like JAY-Z and The Weeknd in his corner.
"I can speak for myself when I say watching him work is an inspiration," Belly says of The Weeknd. "Even though he’s younger than me, I still learn from him because he’s wise beyond his years."
Be on the lookout for Belly and The Weeknd's collaboration, set to drop this week.
