Adele Plans to Take an Extended Break From Music for ‘An Incredibly Long Time’

Adele has made it clear that she’s taking a break from music for “an incredibly long time.”

At her final show in Munich yesterday (Aug. 31), the 36-year-old singer revealed that, following her 10 remaining shows in Vegas, she’s taking an extended music break — explaining that after doing non-stop shows for nearly three years, she’s ready to return to “living my life.”

“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now,” the singer said in an emotional speech to her fans. “I want to live my life that I’ve been building and I will miss you terribly.”

She then expressed that after her shows, “I will not see you for an incredibly long time. And I will hold you dear in my heart for the whole length of my break.”

Earlier last month at one of her shows in Munich, Adele seemingly revealed that she’d gotten engaged to Rich Paul. A fan jokingly proposed to the singer on stage, which prompted her to make that announcement. “I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married,” she said.

At her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas earlier this summer, Adele suggested that she’ll have a kid once she’s done with all of her touring.

While participating in a gender reveal for two concert attendees, Adele confided in the audience her plans for her relationship with Paul.

“Once I’m done with all of my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby,” she said. “And I want to have a girl because I’ve already got a boy.”

“I feel like she might be the person I love the most in the world, and I’ll probably hate the most in the world as well…She’s going to put me in my place all the time, isn’t she?” she added.

Adele continued on, wondering how controlling her future daughter would be. “With me as her mother and Rich as her father, my daughter’s going to be a bossy little queen, isn’t she?” she asked the crowd.
