Kanye West Claims Playboi Carti Pulled Up Outside His Hotel ‘With a Gun’

The artist formerly known as Kanye West claims Playboi Carti once told him he was “at the Chateau with a gun.” While the exact timeline of this alleged incident is unclear, Ye appears to have made the claim during a Twitch stream this week, possibly from his own account.

“I gotta tell you another thing that Carti said telling me on the phone, n***a,” Ye is seen telling the camera in the clip below. “This n***a told me he was at the Chateau with a gun, n***a. What that mean, n***a? And then n***a said he don’t be on the internet. It’s like, if you don’t be on the internet, what we talking about then?”

The “Chateau” in question, presumably, is the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, where Ye was revealed to be staying by way of his recent Akademiks interview.

Speculation on X and elsewhere placed these Ye remarks as stemming from a brief stream from his own Twitch account, though that hadn’t been independently confirmed as of this writing. Widely circulating on X was a screenshot showing an alleged tweet from Ye directing fans to a Twitch account under the username @yeezy_stream.

However, no such tweet was live on Ye’s official X account as of publication time. An account exists under that name, although it is currently “temporarily unavailable” due to what a Twitch disclaimer says was “a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”

There has also been speculation about what may have caused an alleged ban, though that too remains unconfirmed.

Ye and Carti, once frequent collaborators (with the latter very much falling under the artistic lineage of Ye), have had no shortage of publicly-aired-out issues in recent months. In March, Carti, not typically one to utilize social media in a direct fashion, urged Ye to “STFU.”
