Marco Antonio Solís Shows Love to Kendrick Lamar by Dancing to “Not Like Us” at Concert

Marco Antonio Solís, one of Mexico’s most legendary singers, gave his take on “Not Like Us.”

The 65-year-old Mexican icon took fans by surprise at a recent concert in Argentina when he interpolated Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” into his set.

As noted by Remezcla’s Lucas Villa, a fan edit of El Buki dancing to “Not Like Us” spread on TikTok (and likely every Latino WhatsApp group chat) not long after K.Dot performed his hit song during the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Solís may have somehow become aware of this edited video recently and gave his spin on Dot’s Halftime dance during his Feb. 23 concert at the Estadio Centenario in Resistencia while performing his hit “El Celoso” alongside his “vaquera” dancers.

The singer shared the video to his Instagram account on Monday along with the caption, “They’re not like us 💥 They’re not like us 💥”

It’s also evident that the global impact of the GNX’s rapper’s hit single is expanding in Mexico, as creators are using the “Not Like Us” Halftime performance as a sound on new TikTok videos.

Solís brief performance of “Not Like Us” may come as a surprise to some of his fans.

In a 2019 interview with GQ México y Latinoamérica, Solís said it was his mission to “defend” music before bringing up reggaetón.

“In another words, for you, it’s the worst thing that’s happened to music?” asked journalist Alejandro Mancilla.

“Not so much,” Solís said with a laugh. “Its lyrics, yes, perhaps but we live in a liberal world and it is a valid genre. You have to accept it, they are necessary rhythms that have been liked for a reason. Although it cannot last because it is not made with the soul; it does not grow, it does not bear fruit. Romance is what does not expire.”
